We have been spoiled in recent years … too many people don’t realise that.

However, last night wasn’t dire … it was football, always interesting and the result in the balance until the end. Classic European football.

For constant excitement, there’s always basketball, which actually bores me

A well struck ball into the corner from 12 yards scores almost every time unless the ‘keeper moves early (and VAR is looking for that these days).

Most penalties that are saved are either a yard or more in from the post or not struck cleanly.

Technique and calmness are what’s required

I suspect you’re right … Slot won’t have got to the position he’s in now without some ego and total belief in his own ability.
December 10, 2025 at 12:38 PM
I’m not sure we’ll ever know the true position.

However, last night does tend to suggest that Slot has not “lost the dressing room”. I watched closely as Virgil passed the Amazon microphone to Arne after his interview … all very friendly and no “icy looks”, etc.

Fair … it’s a delicate balance.

I’m with you … it’s a match where the victor has been the extremely lucky. We got a little bit of luck at the end last night, which balanced out our bad luck earlier.

Considering we were the away side and the (usual) calibre of the opponent, we deserved the win.

Take it, move on, improve.

If he’s in the ground, they’ll be crowd suppprt for him (rightly so if he is going to be leaving). But I think they’ll also sing for Slot.

I’d allow Mo to “say his goodbyes” if that’s what it will be.

If he’s not leaving, his attitude on the day will speak volumes
December 10, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Agree, but I think it’s a matter of which fit bodies we have available and he’s not available after the weekend.

Whether he’s ever available again after the weekend is an open debate.

It will depend a lot on fitness (Gakpo missing for certain). If it was down to me, I’d have him on the bench and give him the final 30 minutes.

Let’s then see what his attitude, performance and reaction at the end says about the situation.

The suits might say different

Smash and grab was PSG away last year. This was light years away from that performance

Amazon Prime have a pretty good line-up off pitch and, from my perspective, their overall coverage is improving with each year.

Away games in Europe are rarely pretty. Professional is perfection

Agree 100%
December 9, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Exactly … small steps is the only way from the position we’re in
December 9, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Agree … it’s mad
December 9, 2025 at 10:26 PM
I know but soooo soft.

Not complaining at all … my comment was as much about the time the VAR check was taking
December 9, 2025 at 10:21 PM
Yes … but I think you’re being very harsh.

Confidence has been shot to pieces and this was a potentially very difficult UCL away fixture.

Be difficult to beat ✅
Have a presence in the game✅
Give yourself some opportunities ✅

Sure, Inter didn’t go for the throat but this was more than OK

A bit harsh mate … it’s a UCL away in the San Siro. What did you seriously expect?

BTW: the forward play will improve as overall performance improves and partnerships develop

Fingers crossed 🤞 but he’s looked very composed tonight. Some nice passing through the press as well
