I think we need to seriously question all this “AI will (do some amazing thing)” hype. It’s incredibly overblown and there’s no evidence we could even achieve AGI, for instance, much less that we’re on a course to do so. So much self-serving hype.

Actually, AI isn’t coming for anything. It’s not a sentient being. Billionaires and their MBA servants are looking to further squeeze labor costs - it’s really all they learn in B school - and see AI as a way to do that.
