See I don't use the term for her but, and this may sound contradictory, will also say while I'm not the craziest fan of her character I am looking forward to her new movie. I've tried with the ST and I just struggle with finding her struggles as "as struggle worthy" as previous SW main characters

Agree to disagree. I see it as a natural human instinct to compare especially when in Star Wars' case where we compare literally everything else, the plot, endeavors, so on so with having 3 stories within 1 so to say let's not compare characters and their struggles is just unrealistic.

I get it but even her sitting in a destroyed AT-AT isn't what fans want to see as struggling. Yes struggles can be presented differently but if the fan doesn't feel it it's not done well. Plus all of her struggles happen within a year where Luke/Ani happen over years. that hurt her presentation

I don't see her as a Mary Sue but I do understand where people are coming from. Even those things you mentioned about Rey don't seem like "she's struggling" versus that's just how she's presented versus Luke learning who his father is and him losing his duel with Vader. Those seem more "struggling"

As "fun" as these discussions can be they open the door to "Well this character is more of a Skywalker than Rey is." Ben was the last Skywalker by blood. Rey is the last Skywalker by name

I just finished this. This was an absolute banger and an applause is due to all those involved. But specifically, the voice actor for Sskeer, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
