I know this is off subject but I saw a YouTube video yesterday saying that the origin of hungover was to do with sailors hanging off ropes when drunk. Seems ridiculous. Wondering if anyone knows the real origin of the word?

I work for a supermarket and suggested to them they did this years ago on their car parks and got the reply. They fought. UK drivers would constantly hit the supports. Probably the stupidest response I could have got.
