Totally agree with that you've said. I trust the professionals who know what they're doing, but not the average person who's "rescued" a wild animal on a whim.

As you've mentioned, it's never going to come back to the irresponsible people, only the innocents around them including the animals

Even so, I think rescues shouldn't automatically become someone's house pet just because they can't be re-released. I think showing people rescues treated as pets isn't super beneficial long term, as even if it's just one, it can set a precedent for bad keeping practices to the public

Domestication takes thousands of years, what you're talking about is habituation. Cheetahs are beautiful but habituating wild animals is not beneficial to us or for the cheetah's survival - in the latter case it can even be detrimental if they are too used to humans

Hobbyist poultry owners like "they shouldn't exist because they're going to kill my chickens" ok so we shouldn't kill native wildlife because you don't want to safeguard your animals
