im looking forward to this chip even if its just a better bin. tbh most of these claimed performance gains are lackluster apart from CS2, which is very known for performance being tied to good cpus. i hope that means good for overwatch 2, too.

it depends on the pricing relative to each other though. if the at launch $689 9800X3D can get cheaper than it's current sales price of $599, it might not make a lot of sense to jump to the 9850x3d for a matter of 7% performance gains.
plus, that pricing structure could have an impact on resale :)

lol just returned a power supply over mandatory 12 pin 12VHPWR connector usage if you want to use two pcie power plugs on seperate cables. i stand by what ive said about this plug. not in my system fuck no xd

being tempted by a cpu. after 13% provincial tax on a local $300 7600X3D bringing it to $339, the CAD-converted aliexpress 7800X3D seems convincing at $381. $42 for 2 extra cores and the performance gain seen from the better binned chip.
