Retired engineer. Now a tree farmer, wood worker, musician, maker.
No longer republican.
Getting the money out of political campaigns would solve most of US political problems.
(AKA: ClintEastwood's Chair, from twitter)
The human race needs to see Putin fail. Our antibodies are at full alert and surging to the infection, but they are facing multiple viruses.

I am hoping this will be considered a breach of contract and the regulatory bodies for these events will cancel the US selections.

The USA is struggling to save it's own democracy. The Trump administration speaks only for the creation of a Kleptocracy, like Putin's. Xi, trump, orban, and the like, don't want to see Putin fail because they see him as their example.

That's a very big "if". We're talking about Amazon here. Bezos doesn't give a damn.

Only if you have the monitoring equipment in place ahead of time. Even then, it's not as easy as some people think. You can detect the signals, but tracking them to the source is an entirely different problem. Ireland really should have been better prepared.

I worked on several Star Wars teams under Reagan. We all knew it was the pipe dream of a guy who was losing his mental faculties. It did help fund a lot of technology though. The stuff I was involved in went on to become the backbone of cell phones & cellular networks.

Fundamentally, too many disenfranchised voters (non-voters!). For a variety of reasons.
The obsolete electoral college is now an element of corruption.
Restricted in the number of characters.

The real shit show is going to begin when Russia calls it quits on this war.

But fortunately, they were not the majority. They were, unfortunately, the majority of the minority that bothered to vote. November 2026 will be very interesting. One, out of every five citizens, in my nearest city, showed up for the No Kings rally. Over 100,000 of us.

And many, much smaller countries are busting their piggy banks and emergency funds to support Ukraine. They understand the possibility of the moment, and the urgency of exploitation. It's really heart warming to see.
I'm in my 70s, but I really want someone to lock me in a cage fight with witkoff.
