ME has taken my ability to work and socialise so you'll usually find me in the garden. Or in the kitchen.

What's that? You can tell the husband's away for the weekend?

Let me get this straight - the England women's football team won the Euros with a visually impaired goalie and a striker with a broken leg yet there are a few English men saying 'well, it isn't really football'. 1/3

My niece finally found love in her second marriage. On their wedding day, her brother's 6 year old daughter told the groom 'you're her best husband so far'.

Please can someone show me how to upload a post to Bluesky with a photo attached. The help feeds I've seen appear to show that I need to do some kind of coding. Come on! This is 2025 not 1995. There must be a shortcut, simple way to do it.

I came home after my French holiday with a chum.
He's very pleased to see me, and I him, and now as I rest there are wonderful smells wafting upstairs from the welcome home dinner he's cooked for me and the dogs are lying on either side of me. They're equally pleased to have me home.

As my neighbour makes me a coffee with the filter drip machine, I ponder on the fact that what the Americans call a French press isn't widely available in Frane.

We popped into the local restaurant for the menu do jour at lunch. He looked fairly laid back but asked if we'd booked. We just got in before about 50 members of various pétanques teams came in. Phew, just made it.
I thought pétanques was more of a southern France thing. Apparently not.

I'm creating a Spotify list of French music.
Any recommendations?

For years I wrestled with my desire for a rural French home vs my political objections to 2nd homes. The a Frenchman said its a good idea so long as I take part in the local community. Second homes in France are a different kettle of fish from the UK.
Done. Sitting in my beautiful new kitchen.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

In my teens I had a good friend but I never felt good enough for her because she was talented and posh.
Fifty years on we reconnected. It turns out that she never felt good enough for me because I was so popular.
I was popular?! Who knew!

One of my earliest memories is of me climbing the stairs on all fours. Now the cycle is closing and I climb the stairs on all fours again.

The birds think spring is coming. On Tuesday a pair of blue tits were flirting in my plum tree. Today two cock robins are standing off and showing off to a fairly indifferent female.

I am finally embracing my trajectory into old age. I popped upstairs for something and said to myself 'well, as I'm up here, I might as well have a wee'.
Actually, this marks my arrival.

Brain fog, what are you doing to me? Is putting the second lot of shampoo on before rinsing off the first, or not rinsing off the conditioner now a thing?

Good old Nemone, asking Robert de Niro what he thinks of the Bananarama song 'Robert de Niro's waiting'. I'd sometimes wondered that too. He hadn't heard it!

In my healthy days, I enjoyed nothing better than mooching for bargains in a secondhand bookshop. Nowadays, with dogs full of breakfast and devices full of percents, I peruse the kindle daily deals.

I've just had a flashback. I saw a lass with jeans so long they'd wicked up all the rainwater. That was me from when I was 13 until only a few years ago. Shorten my trousers so they don't drag in the puddles? The horror!

For her last years, with dementia and in a care home, my mum, who was never an easy person, became a very sweet lady. I've realised that dementia strips any pretence away. I wonder if I'll be a sweet old lady or a bad tempered dragon.
