Can someone tell the CFIA that a cookie that tastes like chewing on white dude dreads after a week at a music festival is not a cookie, calling it a cookie should be a literal crime.

That wasn’t a cookie. That dirt puck ruined my morning.

Comment section filled with people claiming that the “mystery” respiratory bug going around is infecting anti-vaxxers because the vax is “designed” to attack them…

“I’m not vaxxed and I got sick so the vax caused it” is something like -4 reading level stupid.

Was looking at some nonfiction science books to read to my kid and oh man the sheer amount of AI Generated “science” books being marketed at kids on Amazon. When the cover of the book screams zero effort, I can’t imagine the nonsense in the pages.

Social connection leads to better health, both physical and mental. Programs like the Memory Cafe in the Antigonish Library provide opportunities for connection. Did you know? The cost of public library service is $21.62 per person, per year in provincial funding. Learn more here buff.ly/IAvhw3o

Attempting to rewatch Lost for the first time since the finale aired.. pleased to report that I'm midway through the first episode and all I can think about is the series finale and how it makes much of the show... pointless? Oh and the whole Evie Lilly anti-vax thing.

I may bail on the rewatch.

Welcome to “after decades of insisting in austerity, Boomers point out the results of their greed by making it some sort of moral failure instead of taking any responsibility” season.

Wonderful to see them use Christmas as a weapon to whine about the world they destroyed.

Trump looks just so happy. Mamdani looks like he’s barely holding down his lunch but Trump doesn’t notice and is just excited to do a little BFF photoshoot with him.

“Depict the history of Nova Scotia using legos”

Just that produced this, and while it’s imperfect it’s insane the technical jump that Gemini took this week:

This is beyond cowardice. Fillmore knows damned well that he’s ignoring actual solutions and instead doubling down on outdated, nonsense policy designed to redirect frustrated voters at someone else.
A statement from the office of Mayor Andy Fillmore regarding the 2026-2027 #budget.

“Affordability is the top concern for everyone right now. Our job at City Hall must be to reduce the property tax burden on residents as much as possible." /1

As a lapsed Catholic, there's no love lost for the church in my heart. BUT between this and the Catholic churches largely passing the "my baby is starving" test, it's a good day for Catholics.

We need to elect politicians who have enough brains to understand that keeping taxes as low as possible is bad for society. They also need to have the spine to understand that it's their fucking job to convince constituents of the value of their contributions to the public good.
Fillmore is up and going to propose an alternative that's a hybrid of staff's two recommendations. He wants to keep the tax rate flat but makeup the difference with cuts *and* fees.
