Listen. I did a lot of Trek. All of Voyager, DS9, Lower Decks & most of TNG, for a total of +/- 380 hours.

Kdramas are all I’ve watched for months - but for a total of 348 hours, which means US technically wins here. Sorry Hallyu-me.

Okay! Took ✨eight✨ episodes but I’m in! Twelve eps down and invested now. But wow - the tonal shocks between the romance, the comedy of Bong-Soon’s fights with the gangsters, and the deeply upsetting physical and psychological violence against the kidnap victims 😭

Over what on close inspection seems to me to be either a non-issue or a mischaracterisation of a non-issue.

If it’s not your jam it’s not your jam (even though it is) But boycotting the game as a way to register your protest against Ai taking work from writers feels like you’re punishing everyone else that worked on it by withholding your respect (since it’s F2P) or money (since F2P rarely is).

(I don’t know what the voice translations are like, btw. Playing it in the original Mandarin with English subtitles. Wuxia any other way feels like a tonal disaster)

Maybe there are other genuine misuses of Ai that I haven’t picked up on, like eg doing auto voice translations? But as far as the NPCs go, it really doesn’t feel like it took someone’s job away. If anything it’s created more work for humans cleaning up after the shoehorned implementation.

Ah, right. Was going by ambient city sounds rather than direct experience of the roads. Didn’t factor in the idea of needing to leave the house tbh. Something I’m very much against in principle.
