Hello! It's been almost one year since the inception of the Blog, and lot has happened in the meantime, most of which I haven't even been able to cover. We got the map, miniatures, a taste of the plastic kits, the first Trench Crusade European Championship, several rule updates and most importantly the release of the definitive ruleset last November.

E davvero, di lavoro da fare ce n'è tanto! Nelle ultime 2 settimane sono uscite non una ma ben 2 versioni del regolamento. Avevo originariamente in programma di mostrare i cambiamenti delle regole dalla versione di Playtest 1.6.3 alla versione definitiva 1.0.0, ma dal momento che quest'ultima è già superata, aggiungo anche le modifiche relative alla v.1.0.1.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay. I'm finally back at work on the Trench Crusade rules. And really, there's much work to be done! In the latest 2 weeks alone we got not one but two versions of the rules. I originally planned to showcase the changes from Playtest Rules v1.6.3 to Final Rules v1.0.0 but since the latter has already been superseded, I'm adding changes concerning 1.0.1 already.

Hello folks! For over a year, the Trench Compendium created by Bob The Seagull King has been a valuable asset for all Trench Crusade players, acting as an online rules reference, random scenario generator and most importantly, as a tool for warband building. As useful as it is, It's not without flaws, however: the warband builder isn't really intuitive and lacks any proper validation checks, so you could easily create invalid builds, if you don't know the rules well (something I strongly advise anyway).

Per oltre un anno, il Trench Compendium creato da Bob The Seagull King è stata una risorsa preziosissima per tutti i giocatori di Trench Crusade, fungendo da riferimento online per le regole, generatore di scenari casuali e, soprattutto, strumento per la creazione delle bande. Pur nella sua indiscussa utilità, non è tuttavia senza pecche: il generatore di bande non è particolarmente intuitivo e non presenta controlli di validazione, per cui è facilissimo creare bande irregolari, se non si conoscono bene le regole (cosa che comunque suggerisco a prescindere).

In the meantime we've had some interesting Kickstarter updates from Factory Fortress Inc. and it looks like the official rulebook is just around the corner.

Nel frattempo abbiamo ricevuto alcuni aggiornamenti interessanti sul progetto Kickstarter da parte di Factory Fortress Inc. e sembrerebbe che il regolamento ufficiale sia ormai dietro l'angolo. Fino ad allora comunque le regole di playtest v.1.6.3 costituiscono l'ultimo e più aggiornato documento a nostra disposizione, per cui continuerò a parlare di questa versione, anche se ho già in programma di rivisitare tutto quanto nel momento in cui le regole ufficiali saranno pubblicate.

A lot of things have happened in the past few weeks, with the release of 1.6.2 and 1.6.3 playtest rules updates, the brief but intense parenthesis at PLAY Bologna and the 1.6.3 Campaign Rules update. We'll get to the last topic soon, don't worry. in the meantime we return to our breakdown of the Trench Crusade rules. Today we'll tackle the most important topic a wargamer wants to know about, because you know, all the fancy movement and maneuvering and capturing objectives is important, but the real fun lies in (figuratively) whacking the opponent's little soldiers and make their lives miserable.

Sono successe un sacco di cose nelle ultime settimane, dal rilascio dele regole di playtest versione 1.6.2 e 1.6.3 alla breve ma intensa parentesi di Bologna PLAY, all'aggiornamento delle Regole di Campagna v.1.6.3. Su quest'ultimo punto torneremo presto, non preoccupatevi, nel frattempo riprendiamo a smontare le regole di Trench Crusade. Oggi affronteremo l'argomento più importante che un wargamer vuole conoscere, perché in fondo lo sappiamo tutti che, sì, muovere i propri pezzi per il tavolo e catturare obiettivi è importante, ma il divertimento, quello vero, sta nel prendere a mazzate (non letteralmente, mi raccomando!) i soldatini dei propri amici e rendere miserabili le loro vite.

Hello again! As announced last week when we tackled the changes for the playtest rules v1.6.2, a further updated was already scheduled for release shortly thereafter. Not all changes Tuomas Pirinen intended to make in the previous update were included, therefore during the weekend v1.6.3 (available, as usual on the Trench Crusade website) was released. This has been a smaller update than the previous, focused on completing and slightly rebalancing the changes to Black Grail, Court of the Seven-Headed Serpent and Trench Ghosts.
