It’s really sad and unfortunate. I feel like it’s a byproduct of the sport being labeled as on the rise or one of the fastest growing sports in America. Why invest in your existing fanbase when new fans are right around the corner.

Certainly not diehard fans. I’ve only been a soccer fan for a decade. I feel like a common thread I’ve noticed is the belief that fostering a loyal fanbase isn’t a priority. When a fanbase doesn’t like something just pivot to creating new fans.

Thank you for pointing this out. Just read one of these souless garbage recaps and gave it the rating it deserves. If they don't think their product is worth an intern recaping it, much less an actual journalist doing it, what sort of fans are they trying to attract?

This is some kind of lazy from @mls-pr.bsky.social. Both clubs wrote a match recap. Instead of just using one of those produced by an actual human they would rather use one made by AI.

There is a form to make known how you feel about MLS using AI for recaps. It takes two seconds and has a section where you can let them know in your own words why you’re opposed to the league using any form of AI.
