One of the few good things about the Borderlands movie is the only spaceship in the film, Atlas's, whose name I don't even know.

Let's call it the sleek triangle with a negative space and big cannons.

I'll continue tomorrow, but halfway through the film, I feel like I'm watching a movie where not every shot is the best, where the interesting scenes are scattered among what is shown.

In terms of production design, it matches my memories of Borderlands 2. This movie came out 10 years too late.

I spent the day working on a sci-fi schedule for 2026 (we're in luck🤗) and now I have a headache.

Great photos of the life-size N-1 Starfighter taken in 2008 in Brussels.

Better than mine in 2005 in Paris. 😂

And the moon is red because every 15 days or so there is a blood moon when monsters attack en masse.

It's a castle because the goal of the game is to develop your small village until you have a castle. ☝️

Alfonso Cuarón's Roma (2018): The family watches Marooned (1969) in a movie theater in 1970.

It was a major influence on Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity (2013): “I watched the Gregory Peck movie Marooned over and over when I was a kid.” (Wired)

Welcome to all new followers!
This account is dedicated to the past, present, and future of (mostly space) sci-fi, as well as its creation.

Your homework is to watch Battlestar Galactica (2003), Moon (2009), and Silent Running (1972), and to play FTL (2012) and Outer Wilds (2019). So Say We All! 🖖

Jodorowsky's Dune (canceled circa 1975): Sardaukar warship, art by Chris Foss

A design that Jodorowsky seems to appreciate, as we can see in The Saga of The Meta-Barons (1992-2003), by Alejandro Jodorowsky & Juan Giménez ↘️

Paramount then-president, Michael D. Eisner, in 1979: "Star Wars started off with a science fiction audience and then attracted a general audience. That's what Star Trek will have to do — if the sci‐fi fans reject it, so will the mass moviegoers. So we're doing technical things that have never...”

"While still not officially announced, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 remains in development, with Cold Iron Studios posting new job listings as recently as three months ago on LinkedIn. The next suspected timeframe for an official reveal of the game would be this year’s Alien Day, on April 26th."

... also people who almost never play video games. Extremely well-designed simplicity. And once you master the game, you discover lots of subtleties. The game becomes complex much later on.

The only basic action is to give orders by investing coins. You're the king, you decide for everyone 😁
