One thing that’s frustrating me with writing is how I’m running face-first into every goddamn beginner artist hurdle in such a predictable and cliche way it’s kind of hilarious

Accepting and applying constructive criticism is like power leveling.

On your own, you may eventually overcome those hurdles, eventually

But taking crit and using it to target and overcome your specific weaknesses is a hell of a lot faster and more efficient.

Like yeah, a lot of stuff in art is subjective, but being able to humble yourself a little and say “I know my art is not (and will never be) perfect, but acknowledging and working on my faults is how I grow” goes a hell of a long way.
