I create. Always have. From films, books, and magazines to scripts, comics, and children’s stories — I’ve built narratives that move people.

This is a great example as well. I find Sal a little stiff and over-reliant on the same poses again and again, but Chan's inks here ground it more and the hatching adds grit. Also, similar to Tony DeZuniga when he'd ink them for Conan.

The Cover has Initials of DC and JR - so not Ross Andru
Is it Dave Cockrum and John Romita?

The design of The Tarantula is so cool and better than the actual character (Or at least what they did to him)

This is such a fun cover. I love when the illustrator has us look through layers like this. Its effective the liquid and the air and the colors are great. The Hulk is such a fun character to draw.

I adore this movie and kinda count it as a Christmas movie. This seems ripe for a remake and I think it still works.

Hard to understand how "Six Million Dollar Man" IP isnt re-made today. Change the price tag and the use of AI & Robotics instead of Bionics and its still really cool. Its a great concept and Steve Austin is a badass.

It works really well because Ben Kingsley is so good. Lets use him for so much more in the MCU!
It'd be cool if he can become (or is) a true villian.

Thats what I was thinking as well, he could systematically take the hulk apart limb by limb, and place those limbs around the world. So even if Hulk could regenerate it would take a long time. Game over.

Although the Hulk getting stronger the angrier he gets can be helpful, I believe the Flash is probably one of the most powerful heroes in the DC universe. If the Flash is prepared and knows this is a death match then the speed force is the great equalizer and decides the match in Flash's favor.

Wow I can see that, cool!

Whats the biggest influence you think? Is it Frazetta, Buscema, and actor like a young arnold or is it REH words on the page?

HA! thats funny, now i have to go watch Robocop again...
January 26, 2026 at 9:11 PM
Big fan of his. It was very stylized and perfect for sense of motion like The Flash. Maybe a little stiff when it comes to normal interactions (which are always hard)
January 26, 2026 at 4:44 PM
Nice job! Yeah I look for this constantly in films (not identifying them necessarily) but seeing if they are time accurate. Like "The Ice Storm" image of Fantastic Four from 1973. Details matter.
