SRHR specialist Ms. Stella Pamba taught our PALE Junior High girls that menstruation is a natural monthly shedding of the uterine lining. They learned cycle phases, hormonal changes, normal flow, tracking, irregularities and when to seek help, leaving confident, informed and empowered.

At Global School’s Girl Rising session, learners engaged deeply with Senna’s story, debating options like education, shelter and support. They also explored why families oppose women working-citing gender roles, safety concerns, reputational fears and dependence on girls’ unpaid domestic labor.

Meet Sheril (youtu.be/EPoxqcN4l7Q), a determined young girl inspired by Sunflower Trust’s STEM Spark program. A “Space Walk” lesson revealed the dangers of space without a suit, sparking her dream to become Kenya’s first woman in space and shifting her career choice from Social Sciences to STEM.

Today’s session launched Cohort 2 with impactful discussions on education and parenting. Ruksana’s story moved parents, highlighting how support shapes children’s futures. One parent urged teachers to also learn compassion, reminding us that every adult influences a child’s confidence.

This week, our PALE girls explored space vacuums through hands-on experiments, discovering how pressure affects matter and why spacesuits are necessary. They applied math to breathing volume and realized how complex space calculations grow - making science fun, practical, and enlightening.

During today’s session at a school, learners discussed the value of co-curriculars, especially music, inspired by Suma’s story from Girl Rising. They saw music as Suma’s lifeline-building confidence, healing trauma, gaining recognition-and questioned their own missed music festival opportunities.

Our PALE girls enthusiastically explored hydrogen gas production through chemical reactions and electrolysis, using yeast and hydrogen peroxide, then a battery and lukewarm water and salt-learning about catalysis, gas properties and clean energy applications through exciting, hands-on experiments.
