The author seems to believe, as Carney warned against, that nostalgia as a strategy. Do we really believe the American people will suddenly start voting for what is best for their own self interest? Pay attention to international politics? Overturn Citizens United? It's not going to happen.

Doug needs to think this through. If he wants Chinese EV makers to set up in Ontario down the road he is making a big mistake. They won't forget. BYD is already making electric busses here in Ontario. Should be boycott them too?
