I get that, I love audiobooks cuz I can do other mindless things like chores and stuff so I can focus my mind on the story

Super agree, the show has managed to make the cool Mat from the later books feel like a real person, they translated him into the early show, I absolutely love Mat so far and I like that they're not showing us much, it's making us all more curious about how they'll make him into the guy we know.

For sure, but that's one of the problems with the early books imo, Jordan didn't realize how serious and massive his world would be, I feel the changes later on were a bit of a tone correction. So in the show they have knock-on effects, but not on the destination, just how they arrive there.

I think they're right to do that, they would have had to have a lot more episodes per season to do the "country kids become serious" arc in a youthful way so they had to accelerate things a bit. None of what they've done, tonally, feels wrong they just moved the characters up in their development.

100% agree, that's why I've been giving the show lots of leeway, there is too much ground to cover this early

I listened all the way through! nearly from the moment I woke up to when I went to bed I had the audiobooks in my ears, but I was in university and had a lot of other stuff going on so it was at least a few hours a day
