Wind has finally subsided, so on to phase 2.

Spans 3 gardens, a public footpath and has 3 telephone wires running through it 😳.
17m access platform coming Monday, safest way to untangle the wires. Climbing doesn't always yield maximum branch control and these wires are a little delicate.

It's also full of fencing nails & screws 🙄. 1/5th cut👇

This week's job... Singlehandedly 😳.

Our 6yr old DIY Christmas tree, something of a tradition in our house.
Made from bits of surplus timber.

I made these for the girls 6yrs ago from a recycled bunk bed.
Just painted plyboard with screw hook's and hanging chocolate.
The girls absolutely insist it's not Christmas without them 🥹

Hardy Spicer time...🙄

New wheel hub has arrived... Hurrah 👏
November 26, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Parts arrived late yesterday afternoon, now to fit them... Got to remove the wheel bearing housing from the wishbones, both sides 🙄.
At least it's going to be slightly warmer this week 🤞.

What's is like being able to a afford a mechanic?

Happy Sunday doomers 👊🫂❤️

I only recognise my "country" and stand with our Scottish brothers... Freedom 👊!!!

Very tiring on dad's lap... 😍

Still snowing, going to stop mid afternoon though, then thaw.

Morning Ian

Wintery day in East Yorkshire, still snowing. Forecast to cease around 4pm and then weather warm up to around 4°C rest of week.

Stay warm folks 🫂

Evening all 👊

Current hellscape day 3. Finally diagnosed faulty vacuum unit on the automatic freewheeling hubs (shit design).
I've got to dismantle entire wishbone suspension both sides...
It's almost -1°C, snowmelt covers the floor, awaiting parts 2-5 days, thoroughly pissed off, wet and cold 🥶 🙄.

The elephant in the room, most people have absolutely no understanding of our total dependency on FF.

It is the reason we are alive at this point in time. Turning it off would be fatal to human life.

Fantastic, how many litres have you managed Jan?

I've got some moonshine to bottle this week, also looking at doing some Christmas beer in barrels this year.
I had a lucky purchase in the local charity shop and bought 2 for £20. Just need to replace the seals.

This year's almond harvest, East Yorkshire, 10' high tree, 6yrs old.
First tree to flower, hangs on to blossom, early pollinators adore them.
They taste like marzipan on steroids 😋.

I'm absolutely taking cuttings from this and growing another, hugely beneficial tree in our edible wildlife garden!

Last of the tomato harvest, about to become pasta sauce 😋

Lit ours last night for the first time Ian.

Was nice having hot water this morning after months of cold hand washing.

I love being a peasant 🙃

Not much else any of us can do my friend, just battle through the day.
We've actually got rain this morning, quite stormy. So today's work has been postponed until tomorrow.

Put up a "tent garage" over the weekend, so I'll continue installing electric today instead.

How's things? 👊🫂

Leek & potato soup production line 😋
September 11, 2025 at 11:21 AM
This morning I'm making and canning roast squash & red pepper soup.
Then leek & potato soup, all from our own organic produce.

Should be a delicious winter treat later in the season 😋.

Where the fk did that come from???
A piece of metal lodged in the rear brake pad groove!

I thought the pads were worn out and that's where the squeaking was coming from in last week 😳

I fitted the previous pads and it absolutely wasn't there then, not come from anywhere on the disk or caliper???
