which is nice because i've been feeling a little like a sucker lately for falling back into the trap of "have the underpaid-passion-project part-time job & then the food service job to fund it"

also a pretty prescient environmental rage novel that often doesn't get read like this because for many years people seemed to like to think of ahab as the protagonist and ishmael as essentially more of a frame narrative than a character

honestly, yeah, reading moby dick a couple of years ago was one of the nicest reading surprises i'd had in a while

really i felt like a small&over-excited dog the whole time, bouncing up and down and yelping joyfully

there's a lot of familiar sound in it, too, i'm really enjoying myself!
