if you ever wonder why people, especially cis men, will just say their most unhinged thoughts to trans women it's because we are divine beings, heirs to tradition of temple priestesses, and they are confessing their sins

New Listen: Warning - Watching from a Distance (7/10)

really enjoyed the heavy, funereal atmosphere on this one--in many ways, the platonic ideal of doom. on the other hand, it's a bit too long, and definitely gets repetitive after a while. i'll absolutely have to come back to it later.

i convinced one of my friends to start playing yakuza 0 so i'm riding that high. how about you

melvins is really goofy at times--kind of a shitpost band--but if you're into drone or grunge and willing to not take them too seriously they're absolutely worth it. lysol (s/t on streaming) is a seminal work of drone metal, and stoner witch is really good for a more accessible pick.

i think there are still one or two jess and the ancient ones albums i haven't heard yet, i've gotta get around to listening to the rest
theyfab.bsky.social
oh and blood ceremony! forgot about them, probably because i actually prefer their more folk rock-oriented stuff, lol
theyfab.bsky.social
also of course i'm into lots of doom-adjacent stuff like kyuss, melvins, agalloch, corrosion of conformity, goatsnake, and acid bath. happy to recommend individual albums from any of these artists, too.
theyfab.bsky.social
mostly i love the more drone-y stuff like earth and boris, but i also love the classics (pentagram, pagan altar, saint vitus, trouble). as for slightly lesser-known stuff i'm really into green lung, elder, elephant tree, jex thoth, jess and the ancient ones, reverend bizarre, witch, witchcraft
theyfab.bsky.social
wow it's good to know the franchise got good eventually, how long did it take them?
