Are you interested in large-sample hydrology💧, working with #EOBS, #EStreams, or another European large-sample dataset? 🐫 🐪

Here, Franziska and I investigated how a standardized European dataset performs for modeling in comparison to high-resolution ones 📝

We are happy to get your comments! 💬
Evaluating the quality of the E-OBS meteorological forcing data in EStreams for large-sample hydrology studies in Europe
Abstract. To conduct large-sample hydrological studies over large spatial domains, standardized meteorological forcing data are often desired. For large-sample studies across Europe, the EStreams data...

A new dataset on the water quality in Swiss river catchments is now available. CAMELS-CH-Chem incorporates up to 40 water quality parameters for 115 Swiss catchments between 1981 and 2020 💡

In case someone missed (and is interested), here we have the EStreams website (catalogue): estreams.eawag.ch

Maybe useful for knowing where to download European streamflow data 😁

Meteorological and hydrological transitions are less related than you might think: only 10% and 25% of dry-to-wet transitions propagate to drought-to-flood transitions at a monthly and yearly time scale, respectively.

Yesterday we had an amazing workshop event at Eawag. Such a unique opportunity to hear from big names in the field of hydro(geo)logy, and also the very insightful discussions from early career scientists! A big thank you for all who participated! 💧📖

‼️💧Interesting event for the hydrologists around Zürich:

@eawag.bsky.social free workshop: History of hydrology for the future of education

Date: 18.6.2025
Venue: Eawag Dübendorf, room FC-C20

Key speakers include Professors: Keith Beven, Okke Batelaan and Jan Seibert.

I hope to see you there!

In the era of large-sample hydrology, knowing where to find hydrological data is essential 🌊 🌳 🌧️ 💻

If you need hydro-climatic data for catchments in Europe, then you would like to check out the EStreams website: estreams.eawag.ch
