Yeah same here, like some modelling techniques I use are some older styles from ages ago and I just got used to using them, similar with some texturing/photoshop. Even though I can use Substance Painter now, Ill still sometimes do the classic "Draw directly on a UV layout in photoshop" lol.

I wouldn't call it odd, its in my opinion more of a speed thing and amount of management you want. Like some non-destructive workflows have a lot of setup and things to look after but can break in some ways without knowing. Destructive workflows ive found faster generally. But it comes with risk
