I'm not sure what messages are out there for parents re their kids but staff in schools (certainly special schools) are off at much higher rates and so staffing becomes unsafe as budget cuts mean even less contingency

It's interesting because I would say in our service and in many schools the rate of sickness absence is much higher since covid. Many people are prioritising their health (& some are definitely taking the piss!) but the system can't cope and places are dangerously understaffed as a consequence
