Why is it so shameful for adults to play pretend? Instead we have to convince eachother in false gods just to save ourselves from the humiliation of simply pretending and taking part in community.

What if Elvis was misunderstood whenever he said "mercy?" What if he was actually trying to say "thank you" to his audience, but it always came out in a bad French accent?

Every day I wake up, check the news, whisper “ah, the timeline continues to unravel,” make tea, and proceed to vibe like a raccoon in a burning dumpster with wi-fi and card tricks.

Modern life is just rotating between tabs: one for work, one for doomscrolling, one for googling “is it just me or is everything weird,” and one playing a 10-hour video of rain to trick your nervous system into thinking you live in a forest and not late stage capitalism and a fascist president.

And just like that...TikTok is dark. The USA is a confused hypocritical space.
