Caltech physicists have created the largest qubit array ever assembled: 6,100 neutral-atom qubits trapped in a grid by lasers. Previous arrays of this kind contained only hundreds of qubits.

NASA’s Deep Space Optical Communications technology successfully showed that data encoded in lasers could be reliably transmitted, received, and decoded after traveling millions of miles from Earth at distances comparable to Mars.

Astronomers have found what appears to be the closest supermassive black hole outside of our own Milky Way galaxy. This giant black hole is in the Large Magellanic Cloud, the closest satellite galaxy to our own.
