so on--just quitting and going to the next employer, who has the SAME incentives, and you're in the SAME (individually) weaker position in terms of bargaining power, is therefore a temporary, partial, and unreliable answer at BEST.

way to get employers to act different would be to change that balance of power and/or incentives--unionization, cutting out the middleman and having employer-owners operating the business for their own profit and wage as one and the same essentially, and

That's all well and good, but it's not actually a solution to the problem. AT BEST it's a stopgap, which depends upon you being able to actually a find an employer willing to hire you that isn't as shitty or shittier than the current one and also, and make that transition without interrupting
