Likely going up from here. Worst is likely over, save the next move.

Kinda been there but it was getting kicked out by my parents. Sucks but it's something you can bounce back from.

Appreciate the remembrance post. I actually had spoken to her quite a few times online, so far back as pre-transition, but it wasn't ever about her personal work more than the fiction she wrote back in the day. I wouldn't put two and two together about her professional until far later. Funny.

Wouldn't trust Lexar either. That's a crappy 1TB that you're gonna lose data on for sure. Go Samsung or a SanDisk with a -very- high data speed rating.

Yea my set of 128 goes for 600 right now. Even DDR4 prices are cracked.

I don't think I'll be changing out my 128 any time soon even if it is DDR4 unless something burns down in my rig.

They are, that's why these prices keep going insane.

Retro and Indie gaming are totally in vogue for me right now.

GabeCube might be.

I think this is the problem we face across the board going forward. I sincerely wish to be wrong but everything I keep seeing in my neck of the wood with tech seems to suggest that this shows no sign of stopping when, logically, people should be mad as hell. Not enough madness yet, evidently.

But I think the industry itself does better for itself when that happens. Just like people not going to McDonald's anymore, people in this tax bracket won't game in modern equipment. But the industry will be fine because of the people with money keeping it alive.

As much as I would love to agree with you that people are sensible...they're not. People allow themselves to spend double or triple they should on a phone, a car, etc. and getting there with consoles.

AI pushing RAM going off the deep end, and the RAM in GPUs in them, is the wake up call.

I think if the market was there, it would be. Considering the trend of where everything is going as of late and people are still buying, I wouldn't be surprised if what I mentioned is pulled before the decade is out.

Meanwhile, 4000 dollars GPUs are selling out.

This is a drop in the bucket for these people. These consoles could all sell north of 1000 and they'd sell. I wonder if people realize this anymore with the class gap widening.
Asus' new $4,000 RTX 5090 is already sold out — ROG Matrix Platinum's exorbitant price tag is no deterrent for well-heeled enthusiasts
The allure of exclusivity is eternal.

13S is pretty damn good. Their most recent, Unicorn Overlord, is also really good.
