Haha, yes, they are great opportunists and very curious! They’ll try anything if they think they can get away with it 😁

They do eat it, but we haven’t tried them on it very often. They spend a week or so each Christmas under my brother’s ornamental plum tree, and absolutely devour the windfalls! Corn on the cob is also very popular.

I was at the retirement party for an academic colleague. Her boss gave a speech explaining how she would put many commas into their papers, but he would take some of them out. One of her retirement gifts from him was a large wooden comma, representing all of her stolen commas 😆
