Political junkie. Liberal. Law stuff. #NFFC. Vegetarian, but you eat what you want. Italian-American, British by marriage. Views do not represent my employer's views.
We switched from gas to induction this year and are having anxious discussions about how to flame the brandy. (Historically we have just held it in a label over the burner until it combusted.) Looks like a candle will do the trick just as well.

Family lives out of town, celebrated with my daughter and her family yesterday, will celebrate with my family of origin next week and my in-laws all live in England. Going to the movies is a rare treat for us- why on Earth wouldn't we go tonight?

Orrrrr you could make art that makes you happy and not post it anywhere. That too is an option.

Or an auction.

Our TV is fairly limited and I like it that way. People will tell me "you have to watch...!" and I am like actually no. I do not. It does not appear on Maslow's pyramid.

Exception: if my BFF tells me I have to watch something, then I probably actually do have to watch it.

Fewer pencils, fewer dolls, fewer cookies. I'm sensing a trend here....

When your husband does the shopping Christmas Eve at Walgreens and all that's left is feminine hygiene products.

I'm not actually listening (of all the things I'm not going to turn the soccer game off for...) but her face is legitimately terrifying here.

Gen X aged 35-54? No. Absolutely not.

Can we switch this dude to an hourly rate instead of salary? We'd save a metric fuckton of money.

I'm sorry, we had a pencil policy and I missed it? (Also, we are back to Soviet territory here with the pencil rationing.)

... but I learned SO MUCH that I still use. SO MUCH. And my majors (English/Russian/Soviet Studies) taught me so much about writing and thinking that I used throughout law school and draw on as a professional and academic.

Oh my God yes. I went to Notre Dame which at least did require a full liberal arts curriculum: philosophy, theology, math, science, fine arts, language, probably a couple other things. I wound up with two majors and a concentration because of what I fell in love with...

I know of a raccoon who'd like to meet this guy.

Counterpoint: no.

(Star Wars seven times, many of those back in the day when you had to wait for it to come back to the theater. The Princess Bride. Home for the Holidays. Anything starring Humphrey Bogart or Cary Grant.)

Sorry they don't have friends, I guess?

My question exactly.
