They're citing the same JOSS article, neither cites the package DOI.

Note the loss of the journal name. I would prefer to have the complete citation and not just the doi to use for the journal.

Finding the citation isn't the problem, the issue is the difference in the citation inserted by the visual editor and the one provided by base R, citation(). For example, the BibTex entry provided for the tidyverse package:
