PG&E has turned off the power for several houses on our block to upgrade the connection to a neighbor's home. #martha is keeping an eye on them.

My laptop is running on battery power and the WiFi is running on a UPS battery backup. Such is life.

I took advantage of a quick break in the rain - I had a nice conversation with a neighbor down the street, saw a coyote up in the hills, and got in a 1.6 mile walk.

New family member #martha had first trip to the veterinarian today. Martha is a 5-year old Great Dane and has been with us for about 3 weeks now. She is very shy, very gentle, and gets along just fine with her Little Cat Brother.

I tried to linger on the patio at the coffee shop this morning.

Three Canada Geese and at least 20 goslings wandered through, looking for crumbs and bugs.

Then the man with the leaf blower showed up and chased us all away. ☹️
