To be fair there really isn't much between his best films and the bottom three. Mine would be Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love and Hard Eight and all three of those are still great.

When my daughter was three she had a mini dictionary she would carry around and even sleep with. She would regulary open it to a random page and ask me what words were there.

Yup, such sad news. My highlight as a journalist was interviewing Margaret Pomeranz. I cannot overstate enough how important Margaret and David were to my film education, and to so many Australians aged 30-60.
