Got any to recommend? I've tried in the past only to get the cold shoulder.

Like a loooot of cold shoulders.
October 25, 2023 at 8:21 PM
Huh! Gonna hafta give this a read, definitely.

Thanks, most definitely~! Now will any of this connect me directly with readers, especially action readers, though~? :3

Eh, I reckon I'm too narrow-minded 'bout what I'm aiming for. I've tried the whole "network with writers" thing and it neeeever worked out.

It's why I gun for readers only, but even then I simply don't have the time for cliques and such.

We out here writing the things. :V

Is "kenopsia" in there?

That's a goodie, I tell you hwat.
October 23, 2023 at 7:40 PM
I stand corrected!

Now I have one more red-underlined word I get to add to my program's dictionary. :)
October 23, 2023 at 7:39 PM
Oof, hopefully he will!

The only difference between Chaotic Good and Chaotic Evil is Evil will eat the baby, Good may raise the baby, but both will light the place on fire to save the baby.

Tell em Thomas Duder, Author of the Things himself said Necromancers don't gotta be lawful evil all the time.

Talk to your DM about playing Chaotic Evil and play Chaotic Good anyway.

We out here raising family reunions. <3

NOICE!!

"The dwemers of the foul Lich" should be considered. :)

>crit 20
>homebrew spell crit rules
>"Get gobsmacked, godsmacked, dunked on, dwemered AND ensorcelled, bruh."
October 23, 2023 at 8:00 AM
Madcap and dysfunctional?

Yooooo, I'm down! :)
October 23, 2023 at 7:54 AM
Jackpot: that's the made up word.

"Dwemer," admittedly, originates from the Elder Scrolls games, but I verb it for either artificing or empowering artifacts with abilities.

"This janky sword? Yah, it's been dwemered to be garbage."

"My fave kinda artifact was dwemered for min-maxxing."
October 23, 2023 at 7:52 AM
I now need to read these Stephanie Plum novels.

I have, admittedly, not heard of such fare!
October 23, 2023 at 7:49 AM
I am, as of now, stealing the word "overmorrow."

I offer either "dwemered" or "ensorcelled," but only one of those is an actual word while the other is one I use.
October 23, 2023 at 7:47 AM
It does, but even the Drake stuff (Tom Holland, yeah? Drake's Fortune, Uncharted) is more adventure first, action second...but I might, admittedly, be biased on that.

The Drake books strike me as being closer to Romancing the Stone, or even Indiana Jones on that level.
October 23, 2023 at 7:46 AM
Y'know, Steven Barnes is absolutely my prime example of an "action first" kinda writer. I hiiiighly suggest Street Lethal, or any of the Aubrey Knight, books.

Sure it's post megacorpo dystopian with a zest of cyberpunk, buuut the martial sensibilities are superb. <3
October 23, 2023 at 7:43 AM
Dunno if I can agree with that m'self, but I can see what you mean, especially if you compare old Dragonlance to, say, Shannara.
October 23, 2023 at 7:41 AM
I'm just not good at finding them. :V
October 23, 2023 at 7:39 AM
See that's the thing - most published works after the 80's really don't have action as the primary focus.

It's almost completely secondary to other genres.

Now keep in mind, that's the trad published sector, but certainly there's readers who crave that...er, well.

Action.

Note to self: seamlessly integrate the word "wheremst" into the next manuscript.

Also use the word "dwemered" more.
