Speaking from personal experience I find that they can be very helpful in dealing with common gastrointestinal issues. I’m 72 and always had an ironclad guts, until about 3 years ago. They aren’t cheap so if you don’t feel better while taking the probiotics, then I agree that they aren’t worth it.

Maybe a beneficial Transverse Hover Fly (Eristalis transversa)? Good to see them in your garden, the larvae eat aphids and the adults are great pollinators.
