I was a young teen living on Staten Island in 1976 during the Bicentennial. A friend and I rode our bikes to the beach near the Verrazzano Bridge to watch the tall ships sail into NY Harbor. I can remember wondering what the country would be like at the 250th anniversary. I never imagined...this. 🫤
