It’s a really good song and wonderful now that more folks can lead and sing it. It was also one of the first ‘new’ songs I’ve lead. And so far it’s been called seven times at the 2025 book singings we’ve been to!

And also Northern Harmony (Village Harmony) did Millbrook too. northernharmony.bandcamp.com/track/millbr...

Millbrook is a banger!
Gotta give a shoutout to Shenandoah Harmony for having it first.
And looks like Northampton Harmony did it before that:

You can tell we’re singing a new song because our heads are down sight reading the music for the first time on one of the songs added to the new 2025 edition of the Sacred Harp. It was an amazing day to experience those new songs with all those voices that day.

The heck with politics, that sounds like an epic day when visiting NYC. Do you have a travel tips blog?

Your stamping looks great.

I cut a block stamp for the Toronto group’s loaners. A little more utilitarian, but I matched the typeface.

On our drives to southern singings this summer and fall, we noticed there were fewer Bucky’s billboards and the messages were tamer.
You may be on to something.

I’m still pissed.
Somehow balls thrown in the same spot since then aren’t strikes.

Maybe that’s why that afternoon session is such a workout usually.

Last Fall this was discarded on a sidewalk in Toronto. I tried to figure out how to overwinter it. Looks like it made it. I want to bring it in again with as little mess as possible—we have cats. Our basement doesn’t get cold but I could make a spot near a window. Any more tips besides your article?

Not sure that was technically “broadcast”.
However those wishing still wising to keep the airwaves clean could still report the FAN590 Jays Talk show for broadcasting this interview (they did sort of apologize for ‘live radio’ right afterwards). bsky.app/profile/blue...

To clarify, everyone at the convention was singing, chatting & eating together (and exchanging hugs).

In contrast the most diverse gatherings I’m in are Toronto transit system subway cars and busses, with people from all over the world. But the only thing we do together there is co-exist (usually).

The convention the most congenial and communal gathering of a disparate variety of folks as I remember attending.

The original Sacred Harp book came out in 1844 and has had waves of popularity over the centuries. Hopefully the release of the 2025 revision is a sign the tide is rolling back in. The first printing sold out in the first weekend.
