Known for pushing flavour boundaries within the low and no alcohol space, Brulo have built a reputation for beers that aim to deliver depth and balance without relying on alcohol to do the heavy lifting.

With a hop-forward name like that, expectations are naturally raised and given Brulo’s track record in this category, there’s plenty of interest in how much flavour can be delivered at such a low strength.

Welcome back! For this part of our low ABV series, Kayla is taking the wheel as we head into the Campervan x Drop Project Alpine Tour. This collaboration brings together two breweries well known for thoughtful, flavour-driven beers, and it offers a chance to see how that approach translates within the lower alcohol space. As always, the focus remains on balance, drinkability and overall quality, with Kayla leading us through the range and sharing her impressions along the way.

A new year has begun, so as is tradition, we are turning their attention to a category that continues to evolve and improve: low ABV beer. This year we’ll be taking a considered look at a selection of beers from Brulo, Heaps Normal, and a couple of others too. As always, we’ll be approaching each beer on its own merits, applying the same standards we use across all our reviews; lets keep our fingers crossed as these ones are a little more mainstream than those we usually cover at this time of year.

Every now and then, a beer pilgrimage is required. Not for sightseeing, not for culture (well… maybe a bit), but for the beer. This time, it took us to Copenhagen and straight through the doors of Warpigs. where US-style hops, big stouts, and zero compromise are the order of the day. TEH on tour had officially begun. Warpigs is Copenhagen’s unabashed celebration of bold, flavour-first beer culture its a Danish-American collab between Mikkeller and 3 Floyds that throws subtlety out the window.

Looking at the can art, the beer should probably be named 24 Hour Party People, but presumably that is trademarked or something. There are definite nods to the Madchester rave scene and acid house with the yellow ‘smiley’ face. At the same time, it keeps the Dark Revolution vibes as it reveals the skull underneath. Double dry hopped and part of their small batch series, it promises to be good, but will it get me raving?
