Not a thought on a walk, but while naming this account I was trying to think of a good way to shorten it - ideally phonetically. The result was "thotsonwoks" which... I decided I didn't need to be creative, and that a long handle is fine. (ᵕ-ᴗ-)

Happy 55th birthday?
A two (three? I’m not sure if the garage counts, but the 2 levels of living area are built on top of one) story white house with a sign hanging above the door. I stopped for a good minute to read the sign and thought - pretty confidently - it read “I’m Fifty Five.” It seemed like a funny birthday banner to have up, and so I took this photo. Now as I post it… I have zoomed in on the sign and it actually reads “Six Fifty Five.” I wonder if I need new glasses

A secret place
I was admiring the little gap created under the now dead roots of an uprooted tree, and also pleased that I could get close to look inside without worrying about a snake popping out to say hello. After thinking about that, I’m not sure why I decided California shouldn’t have snakes - I guess I’ve let my guard down since the fire ants can’t find me here. Thankfully, while snakes do exist here there were none in this crevice. My second realization was that this spot is not actually all that secret. Even though it looks dark inside there is no “roof” blocking the top. So while I called it a crevice, it’s really a more of an archway - don’t let the photo fool you. On another note, it would have been an especially cute sight if a little red mushroom grew under it.

He didn’t quite make it to Thanksgiving
The front yard of a Spanish Colonial style home. They once had an inflatable turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving, but it seems he didn’t quite reach the day of as he now remains out, but deflated. Whether he reached his demise after being popped by the elements, or his air supply was cut by his human owners, I thought it was a little funny that in the window you can see their newly decorated Christmas tree. I like to think they simply couldn’t wait one more day for Christmas. Poor turkey.

A windswept tree
A tree that has relatively full/normally spread branches along the middle region, but the upper third of the trunk + branches are curved to the right (It somewhat forms a 120 degree angle). I suppose it grew like this from high winds, although I feel like it doesn’t often get higher than 10mph here and storms aren’t common. (Today the wind appears to have been blowing at 6mph which was just enough to scatter the leaves around - sometimes I’d try to crunch one under my feet, but the wind would help it escape.)
