Just reading this book, the author (famous satirist who worked as private math tutor) lived for some years in Manhattan (we 2023 a few weeks: 87th UW, he: 89th UW). Highly recommanded! I fight very, very hard not to buy a unique renaissance book (first print of a few essential Iamblichos texts fitting perfectly to my interests, with many renarks of renaissance abd early modern scholars working with it, but more expensive than I want to spend for books).
