The documentary was produced with funding grant from Health Research Board to @DiabetesCTN, under #ScienceonScreen, a partnership between @CÚRAMDevices & Galway-based film agency @Ardán_ie. The film will be shown at select film festivals in 2026 & then hopefully it will be picked up by broadcasters

Filmed in Dublin & Galway, the documentary features several people living w/ diabetes & highlights the impact of clinical trials and public & patient involvement (PPI) in shaping future diabetes care. We made some new Diabuddies & heard some very powerful personal diabetes stories through the film.

They've gained nearly 30K followers and 40 million views with their fun, relatable content that blends fashion, makeup, beauty, and nightlife with the realities of young adults living with diabetes. Thriveabetes is on Saturday, April 18, in Dublin.
