What the fuck is this AI boosterism in the Guardian today. "It could happen in the next few years". Bollocks could it. No one has the faintest idea how to make an actual AI.

Absolutely fucking inexcusable. No I'm not linking to it.

...timed it tonight; 36 minutes. Ridiculous amount of game for the time investment. Almost forgot to take a photo before packing up!

How exactly? He invaded Ukraine with a side order of horrific war crimes. No of course he's not going to act in good faith you tit.

But if it takes a month to hoodwink you, I'm sure he could manage that.

And by this I mean, we happened to be in London today at the right time and it only seemed polite to head to Whitehall.

Unexpected ford on this morning's ride.
Unexpected because there's not normally a river here.

A late entry into the alcohol-free drinks running - I was given some of this for Christmas and it's great.

Canvas of my daughter's latest artwork (done as a gift for her cousin) arrived from the printers today.

Pretty sure she's not learning how to do this in GCSE art class.

Christmas is coming. THE CAKENING HAS BEGUN.

This is absolute nonsense. We're nowhere near making sentient AI. The "ai" we have now isn't intelligent, it's a maximum likelihood estimator. It's not motivated by anything. It's a category error to think of it in those terms.

OK, then we have options... there's this place?
November 7, 2024 at 12:20 PM
Didn't happen to look like this did it?

Afraid so. Here's the email I got back when I questioned if the closure was really permanent.

My backstory says my provenance is uncertain - either I'm +2 original or a decent quality knock-off (which I think would make me +0?)

Ah Windows. Such a secretive dickhead of an OS.

Wouldn't want to reveal anything useful when stuff goes wrong, would we?

Today's project. She's not entirely happy with the eyes.

I continue to be absolutely blown away.

I mean look at just the line art for it. It blows my mind. She's taught herself basically from scratch in the past year and a half.

*sigh* I wish my obsessive interests didn't flame out so fast...

Not that you're interested, but my daughter spent the past couple of days drawing this as a birthday present for her friends (who it's a picture of).

I'm 45 years old, and I haven't developed a single skill to this level. My daughter's only 14.

Woodstock and Bicester labour party straight up lying about the tactical voting recommendations. It's like they want the Tories to win the seat.

Er... No?

That's how I was (including coming to it late - never painted a mini before 2020ish)... and then the paints ended up in the graveyard of forgotten hobbies and my attention decided it was switching to music. I miss it but haven't been able to bring myself to pick up a brush for a couple of years :(

Ableist prick.
April 21, 2024 at 12:32 PM
Bollocks will they.
April 11, 2024 at 3:35 PM
Not sure about this idea; yes they got more votes than any other individual party but more than half of us consistently *didn't* want them.
