“And then my phone lights up and I don't have a pit in my stomach at the thought of texting someone. In fact, it's the opposite. My terminally online brain sets off the "omg that's oomf!" setting and I immediately try to listen to the audio messages as soon as l can. Even if it's some of the most mentally ill and depressed messages ever, it's still something I look forward to. I often feel bad that I can't be as effective at helping as I want to but I try to be there no matter what. I've tried to sketch out ideas of possible small ways to assist and I've turned to praying and asking the Infinite to have you not struggle. can’t fit it all here but essentially i compare lolcows to Aztec human sacrifice since the productive energy of the internet is spectacularly used up on lolcows like ChrisChan to produce the same sacredness as ripping out someone’s heart for Huitzilopochtli. I then criticize the way that people thirst for a new ChrisChan since she’s less online now but it fails because there’s not as much of a direct back and forth that builds up the sacred energy.
