The quick versuon is that it takes place on Earth far in the future. Players are colonists who inexplicably end up back at earth instead of their intended planet.
There are no signs of living humans left, but alien pirates are raiding what's left.

I adjust my resting rules based on the needs of the story and system.

Some of them use much longer long rest time, like a week.

Sometimes they get the benefits in a shorter in-game time.

Just gotta figure out the hexcrawl part of it first.
Idk if I wanna be rolling for multiple other teams each round as well.

I've never liked the whole "there is no main character in DnD," mantra.

Sure, its about how there is not a SINGLE main character. But the whole party is a main character.

Some stories are more interesting when the protagonists are special.

I'm also getting psyched that smaller TTRPGs are starting to gain popularity. The OGL fiasco was a big Boone. Everyone seems more open to playing other systems.

Oh yeah, shaken & toughness are wonky. Especially if you're a GM tracking multiple extras and WCs.

You're right though, they become easier the more you play!
