Oregonian Crafting on the Spectrum: Yarn, Fabric, Wood, PVC
I read all sorts of things, so I follow all sorts of writers
The place I can pretend the rest of the world doesn’t exist.
I did it. I pressure cooked and survived.

And the end product.

Just for fun, video of the steam release
December 7, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Steam released, scary part done. Now keeping warm.
December 7, 2025 at 1:32 AM
Ok, now to the scary part. Cooking done, and steam releasing.
December 7, 2025 at 1:31 AM
And we’re cooking. It did a little ‘psst’ at the start and I jumped.
“Don’t DO that!”
Yes, pressure cooking makes me nervous but I do want to be able to do it when I want/need to.

Ok, cooker is doing its pre-heat thing. Inside are some Japanese sweet potatoes I purchased from our local farm store.
I’ll let you know if it blows up.

The picture in today’s Oregonian newspaper about things that happen this day in history fits with your day happening now.

Walking along the Linus Pettus Greenway before partaking of turkey day leftovers.
November 29, 2025 at 1:32 AM
South Carolina sky, 70 degrees and not much of a breeze. Lovely day for walk.
November 25, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Cool thing at PDX.
November 24, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Guess where I am. Off to visit family for the turkey day week.

Bought a small candle making kit and refilled a memory candle. This is a big thing so me because I’m very afraid of anything hot, old childhood trauma stuff.

But this candle is important to someone I love so I did it anyways. 😎

First combo Tunisian crochet stitch: honeycomb. Combo of simple and purl.
Probably not the best yarn to see it. ☺️
November 4, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Oh I really like the reverse stitch. It also doesn’t curl as much. I can see using it at the beginning and end of a scarf.
Next, combo stitches.
November 4, 2025 at 12:41 AM
Purl stitch achieved
On to the reverse stitch.
November 3, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Next Tunisian crochet stitch, the knit stitch.
On to the purl stitch.

Happy Halloween
Lots of decorations and candy. Plus haunted school bus.

Just enjoying the clouds in the Oregon sky.
October 30, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Got a book on Tunisian crochet. I’ve been crocheting for most of my life but never tried this technique. I’m enjoying it. Did a sample of the simple stitch. Now in the middle of doing the knit stitch. I can see I’m also going to also enjoy getting hooks that I am comfortable using.
October 28, 2025 at 12:17 AM
Small Dishcloth achieved. Done in simple stitch, with a 5mm hook.
On to learning another stitch.
October 26, 2025 at 8:01 PM
My first row. Love my pretty hook. And the yarn is very soft. Found it easier to hold the hook behind all the loops.
