Hopefully that will reach enough. But then again, the alure of hatred that MAGA embraces is quite addicting. But please remember the Nazi’s didn’t improve the lives of Germans, just like MAGA is clearly not trying to improve the lives of Americans.

Those same politicians need to know that they are on the wrong track. Your voice needs to be heard that the focus needs to be the economy. That these attacks do nothing to improve anyone’s life.

Ya, they are voted in, but that doesn’t mean the people have to silently obey. You wanted them to make the economy better, right? So why are they fixated on attacking migrants and trans folks instead?

We’ve seen how these things play out when the majority of the people just sit on the sidelines. It ends in death and regret. Speaking up now is the only option.

Everything Trump and the wider MAGA movement is doing mirrors the Nazi takeover in Germany. Even down to the people they are attacking. The general citizenry didn’t see it in the 1930s, but that’s no excuse for us in the 2020s.

I would ask those on the sidelines to ask a few questions for every action Trump has and will take. How does this lower my grocery or gas prices? How does this lower the national debt? I mean, that’s why so many of you voted for him, right?

Even many traditional conservatives see MAGA is nothing but a movement of hatred. One of them being Governor Cox of Utah. That’s where the quote above is from when he vetoed the transgender sports ban back in 2022.

Transgender athletes are not a problem. Certainly not one that requires this much attention. But the MAGA base has been taught that hatred is the only way to live. So, this is the priority. Not lowering prices. Not avoiding major international conflicts. Only feeding hatred.

This is the power grab that mirrors how the Nazi’s took power in Germany. And what are so many doing? A modern-day equivalent of throwing books into a fire. The most famous book burning pictures are of the destruction of the Hirschfeld Institute, the world’s leading LGBTQ+ clinic at the time.

Musk is running roughshod over governmental agencies. Key architects of Project 2025 are getting critical positions in the government. The same people who actively want to destroy the constitution and remake this country into a white Christian fundamentalist ethno-state.

So many of the GOP politicians can’t agree on what to do, but they have to show they are doing something. So, they attack already marginalized communities.

Right now, the GOP can’t get out of its own way. Trump’s economic and foreign policy plans will skyrocket the debt while making life unaffordable for the working class.

The MAGA movement isn’t new. This dates back centuries when a few powerful people made the masses scared of a small powerless community. It’s all the same. It’s all just hatred to keep the masses obedient.

Some folks may try to use those numbers to justify the EO. They may argue that if it affects so few, then why should we care? You see, it’s not just about sports, just like it was not about water fountains.

Out of roughly 544,000 NCAA athletes, less than 10 are transgender. Privacy laws prevent getting solid numbers for K-12, but only 5 transgender athletes would be impacted. And to give a hint to that quote, it impacted one, just one person, out of 77,251. Just one.

So, Trump signed an Executive Order directing the government to abolish transgender folks from sports. This is pitched as a way to “protect” women, but does literally nothing for it. There is no great threat to women’s sports, much less youth sports.

Does any of this really surprise you? It doesn't surprise me. And even with my insanely low expectations this move still disappoints me in new and disturbing ways, but not surprise me.

I will not be on the sideline. Not because I have something to lose personally, but because it’s the right thing to do. Never has the right thing been so clear, yet so elusive to so many. If this ruffles your feathers, frankly, I don’t care because you are the specific person who needs to hear this.

But I will not back down either. My faith in Christ calls me to stand firm in this storm of hatred. My oath to the Constitution calls me to support freedom in all it’s forms. My love for humanity calls me to be compassionate to all, regardless of who they are.

I don’t want to see anyone suffer. Ever. Be them friend or foe. I don’t want to see people I know go through what will happen. It breaks my heart.
