Exactly a year ago, during my visit to the Tate Modern in London, I got a copy of Nobel Peace Prize awardee Maria Ressa’s book and shared my excitement on my old Twitter account. To my surprise, she replied, asking me to share my thoughts—a promise I’m finally keeping. @mariaressa.bsky.social

But as scientists, academics, and scholars, we should also do the same. We must get out of our ivory towers, improve our science communications and STEM community engagement to build better relations with policymakers and the people and communities we wish to reach.

I used to do manual referencing until my PhD supervisor introduced me to Zotero. This tool saved me from all the inconvenience and stress while keeping track of my reference notes. I love the tags feature!
