Happy 33 years to the GOAT

while not my fav record of theirs, Fully Completely is the eternal entry point for The Tragically Hip imo. Lyrically it's their most Canadian and musically it's where they crossed the border (lol) from bar rock to something new and uniquely The Hip

my initial reactions:
- Progressive scaling (enemies get harder as you find progression items) kind of doesn't make sense. I want to try shuffling chapter difficulty instead next time
- There are item locations I def missed in the vanilla game
- Having played this game hundreds of times really helps

finished my first Paper Mario Rando! After trying and not really committing a few times, I wanted to see a run thru to the end. I absolutely wanna do it again, it's such a fun way to replay the game.

My run clocked in just over 8hrs, and enjoy this bonus literal nightmare blunt rotation screenshot
The file menu from the Paper Mario Randomizer. My file, named Loggy, reached Level 21 and a Play Time of 07:57 The beginning of the Paper Mario end cutscene parade with text reading "Paper Mario Randomizer Mod Developers" Another screenshot of the end scene parade with text reading "Thank you for playing, try another seed" A Boo holding the Strange Leaf item and saying "Marioooooo... You have come..."

I'm FREE oh my god
The UFO 50 game details screen for Star Waspir with statistics saying "Highest Multi: 33, Gray Best: 452450, Yellow Best: 122420"

grinding Star Waspir in UFO 50 is taking such a toll that I have to replay Campanella after any Star Waspir session to remind myself I do actually enjoy UFO 50. And I've been getting really good at Campanella

- filled out my AGDQ 2026 volunteer application
- got my MAGFest badge and filled out a magFAST volunteer interest form

Really bummed I'll be cutting GDQ short this year to get to MAGFest on time but I'm very excited for what will be a super busy week in early January

Maybe it's time, it might condition me to just let that reaction go and finally be free 🥹

every single time I make a social media post for my job I literally count the seconds waiting for a slack tag that's like "hey @everyone which fucking idiot made this most recent post" which never comes, but it's such a visceral feeling that I start imagining I misspelled a bunch of details

references continued because she really did pull from a lot of different sources here
A Yob t-shirt featuring a biblically accurate angel A "skull noose" drawing featured on a lot of merch and albums by the band Primitive Man
tigerthelion.bsky.social
my partner made a sketch of me wearing a collection of a bunch of the metal tees I have in regular rotation. The gun and text are for comedic flair but otherwise it's so spot on. I sourced everything she's referencing, and it's made me realize I wear like, 5 t-shirts over and over
a sketch featuring a mashup of several graphics which are on metal t-shirts I wear. Namely, a nun or Mother Mary praying, a noose, a man on fire screaming upward, Saturn Devouring His Son, a biblically accurate angel, a skull with some bones, and a cartoony gun shooting bullets. The words "death" "murder" and "666" are also there. Faetooth merch with a depiction of the Goya painting Saturn Devouring His Son. The text reads "You know not what you'll plan to do. Son, this is for my own good" The album cover for The Unfailing Rope by Sunrot A t-shirt for the band Nerver with a drawing of a man on fire, arms stretched upwards

someone please go and destroy everyone in Mario Kart 8 in my absence at The Windjammer Bar in Ridgewood, Queens on the evening of Sunday, September 28th from 6pm to 9pm, you won't regret it

After a short hiatus, we are back! Next Sunday we're playing the best Mario Kart!
tigerthelion.bsky.social
I absolutely recall seeing insta posts from the Windjammer about being closed for filming too so it makes sense! It's a great bar to film in
tigerthelion.bsky.social
I saw Dougie Poole tonight and I asked him about how he ended up filming this music video at The Windjammer and he was like "oh uhh... I think I just asked them" but all this time I definitely built it up in my head that he was a Windjammers regular
tigerthelion.bsky.social
I was just browsing idly around on YouTube watching music videos before completely at random choosing a music video by Dougie Poole which is *shot at The Windjammer in Ridgewood* I am craving a frozen Blue Drink so bad right now

for the record I don't dislike Fire Emblem, I actually very much love the GBA Fire Emblems and feel like every entry after those didn't nearly capture the magic of the series for me
tigerthelion.bsky.social
I need people to know that my Nintendo Direct predictions were mostly wrong except I begrudgingly predicted the finale correctly
my predictions:
we're gonna get another trailer for Pokemon Za basically summarizing everything we already know and highlighting one new feature
Another trailer about Kirby Air Riders but same as above
An announcement of new games hitting the GameCube online thing and it'll either be extremely lukewarm or very hype
Metroid tidbit, not a trailer, not gameplay, but like a "we're working hard on the new Metroid!"
A whole sizzle reel of indie games that are 6+ years old finally coming to Switch
The finale will be a motherfucking Fire Emblem game
