This is the sort of thing I do during my time off I guess, I exchanged some old #Pokémon cards today for a bunch of cards to complete my 151 master set... still have like 60 cards to go.

Around the same time I created Tigrin I was in some Titan AE roleplays online and created Tai. I started working on his story later in 2000. Surprisingly, these are the only sketches I found in the binder of him. Unlike Tigrin, physically he's changed very little in 25 years.

More early Tigrins. I drew him only all the time. My early styles were super cute.

Seeing these colorful characters though is making me wonder if I shouldn't go back to something more fun with Tigrin, though, it got so serious over time. Around 2000 is also when I joined the Lion King fanart archive, so some early appearances of lion characters here.

So, when I was a kid I didn't just create one character, I usually made whole sets of characters with very little to no real detail other than their appearance. So early on, Tigrin had a whole cast of characters around him that were just... dog, rabbit, tiger, etc.

A few more early Tigrins.

There's a ton of very small, very early drawings of Tigrin in here. First iterations of Tigrin had him wearing dog tags.

I'm still not sure how to organize the loose drawings from the drawers so in the meantime, I'm going to share some stuff from this huge binder of stuff, mostly from between 2000 and 2001. It's a lot like the drawers of loose drawings except I hole punched it. No organization. #sketchbooks

I wanted to chat a little bit about an audio book my husband and I have been listening to every night while we do the dishes, which is titled "Children of Time" by Adrian Tchaikovsky, a soft science fiction book, and why I'm utterly devastated by the existence of this stupid book.

We interrupt this scanning session to bring you a WIP story I apparently started when I was like 10 that I must not have planned out very well, I have been laughing for the last five minutes. #sketchbooks

Well the good news is that second drawer was only a third full of drawings and the rest was old keepsakes so I'm done with loose drawings, bad news is now I'm into scanning this box of small size #sketchbooks... kill me now

Good news is I finally finished scanning everything in this drawer, total of about 800 files. Bad news is I got another one of these drawers that's just about as full. 🫠 #sketchbooks

So this is interesting, I am scanning more art for the #sketchbooks project and found this sketch which looks like an early drawing of Tigrin that's like a day older than the earliest one I thought I had. Even funnier is not only is that URL at the bottom still active, it looks exactly the same.

Here's some more Tigrins from the #sketchbooks pile.

We bought this "Cat Coloring" book for my daughter, but some of the artwork is kind of suspicious, looks potentially AI-generated. Disappointing to have to worry about this.

While scanning my old #sketchbooks I've encountered a number of places where pages were torn out and it seems like in some cases those were places I had done some referenced anatomy drawings or life drawings that I later ripped out so no one would see them.

this batch is truly random
August 7, 2025 at 8:15 PM
A random assortment mostly of furrecat drawings. It's always interesting to me to see sketches I recognize and then see what I drew around it

Going to start a thread 🧵 for loose leaf sketches for the #sketchbooks project... here are some random Tigrins from various years from the pile

I often drew on the back of my #sketchbooks and disposable paint palettes, I'm sure I have more but here are a few.

It's taking me a while to get through my boxes of loose drawings for my #sketchbooks project because I saved every scrap of paper I doodled on, so I am going backwards through time scanning stacks of school notes that I scribbled in the margins. I think these are all from Senior year.

No cheating, post your lock screen!

It's not terribly interesting... summertime vibes.
