For longer than I remember, we’ve been searching gorse and its relatives without any luck for Gorse Shieldbugs. How odd it was to spot our first one today on an old grass stem at Dersingham Bog with no obvious Gorse in sight.

This was a day-maker. On a trip to Castle Acre, a Little Owl. Unfortunate that it was not very close and we only had the macro lens, but as far as I’m aware, it’s the first we’ve ever seen. 🦉
